About this program

The IoThinkTank Best of IoT Awards celebrate the year’s most impactful companies, products, leaders, and solutions across the Internet of Things. This program recognizes broad, standout achievement across the IoT ecosystem, from breakthrough innovation and platform leadership to sustainability, security, hardware, and executive impact.

How this differs from our other awards: In-year IoThinkTank awards spotlight specific themes, technologies, or verticals, such as edge computing, smart cities, AgTech, or health technology. The Best of IoT Awards highlight marquee achievements that define the year across the full IoT landscape.

Award categories

Organizations may enter more than one category when their work is a legitimate fit for multiple areas of recognition.

How it works

1. Review the categories: Choose the Best of category that best matches your company, product, leader, platform, solution, or ecosystem achievement.
2. Submit your entry: Provide a concise overview, evidence of outcomes, supporting materials, and any relevant links or documentation.
3. Evaluation: Eligible entries are reviewed using five universal criteria, with category-specific weighting reflecting the qualities most important to each award.
4. Recognition: Winners are announced on IoThinkTank and receive official winner assets for use across their own marketing, media, and sales channels.

• Growth-stage and established IoT companies with market traction
• Startups showing compelling pilots, early outcomes, or at-scale deployments
• Device makers, platform providers, integrators, and multi-partner ecosystems
• Product and engineering teams turning innovation into measurable impact
• Executives and leaders who materially advanced IoT adoption and outcomes

Evaluation criteria

Every entry is evaluated using five universal criteria. The weighting assigned to each criterion varies by award category.

• Innovation & Differentiation: Originality, meaningful advancement, and differentiation from existing alternatives
• Evidence & Measurable Impact: Credible evidence of operational, financial, safety, sustainability, customer, or industry outcomes
• Execution & Scalability: Implementation quality, reliability, adoption, security, operational readiness, and ability to scale
• Category Fit: How directly the entry satisfies the purpose and expectations of the selected award category
• Leadership, Vision & Industry Contribution: Strategic direction, broader influence, and contribution to advancing the IoT industry

Each annual category page lists the scoring weights applied to that particular award.

Eligibility

• Open worldwide to companies, organizations, and individuals operating in IoT
• Entries should highlight work developed, released, updated, or significantly advanced within the applicable award year
• Entrants may submit to multiple categories when the solution, company, or achievement legitimately fits
• Each category submission should be prepared as a distinct entry
• Confidential materials may be summarized or redacted for judging, with references provided where possible

• Newsroom announcement and social amplification
• Optional spotlight feature or interview opportunities
• Press boilerplate and promotional support guidance
