Quectel Wins 2025 IoT Smart City Solution Award

Quectel Wireless Solutions has been named the winner of the 2025 IoT Smart City Solution Award for its LG290P GNSS module, a breakthrough in democratizing access to centimeter-level RTK positioning for urban IoT deployments.

About the Winning Solution

Quectel logoThe Quectel LG290P (03) is a quad-band, multi-constellation high-precision GNSS module supporting GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, QZSS, and NavIC, alongside augmentation systems such as WASS, EGNOS, and GAGAN. By combining RTK and PPP services with professional-grade interference detection and cancellation, the LG290P delivers unmatched positioning reliability in complex urban environments.

Its standout RTKHOLD feature maintains centimeter-level accuracy for up to 10 minutes even if RTK differential services are interrupted, while integrity detection and secure boot provide added safety and security. With low power consumption and versatile interfaces, the module supports a wide range of smart city use cases, including transportation, ride-sharing, robotics, surveying, and autonomous driving.

Why It Stood Out

Judges praised the LG290P for making high-precision positioning more accessible, removing barriers to adoption in smart city projects where accuracy and reliability are critical. Its combination of advanced security, interference mitigation, and cost-effective scalability positions it as a cornerstone technology for the next wave of connected urban infrastructure.
